Random Quizzilla

1) What are your favorite types of art?
Love the written word, of course. Novels, short stories, films.

2) When was the last time you got a free lunch (or breakfast or dinner)? Who paid for it?
Free lunch at a Thai restaurant in Dorchester, courtesy of an editor, after losing an ambitious struggle with a bowl of Pho.

3) On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being highest, how hungry are you right now?
5. Just polished off a leftover Mediterranean wrap from Cedar Cafe for breakfast. Focused on lunch.

4) Approximately how long do you spend each day responding to emails?
It depends on the subject matter. Some are one sentence answers, all cordials spared. Others are more thoughtful and require more time. Overall, probably about 30 percent of the day. That doesn’t include deleting the junk. I don't know how I ended up on the Pillsbury mailing list but they are relentless. If anyone wants a coupon for Toaster Strudel, let me know. They've sent me about 90 of them just this week.

5) Have you busted out your fall wardrobe yet?
Not yet -- thank goodness. It's going to be 90 degrees today. Still, I noticed many overzealous people at Dunkin' Donuts this morning in their oranges and browns, wearing sweaters and boots and the latest fall jackets. I predict their fate later this afternoon: In the words of JW’s cousin on the Vineyard so many years ago, after realizing he was wearing too many layers of clothing in the afternoon heat, "What was I thinking? Screw this. I'm going home to change into a jock strap and dental floss."

1. Film. Music. Poetry.
2. May. My ex-boss. Veal Parm with side of Rigs at Joe Marzilli's Old Canteen in Providence, RI.
3. 3. I was a one before I answered number 2.
4. Yes, about 30%. As of late, "Jung" or "Paul Westerberg" has constituted a good 50% of the subject matter.
5. I don't differentiate. All I know is something about nothing white after Labor Day.

1. Music.
2. I just back from a free lunch at a real estate function - it was sooo good. Chocolate cobbler for dessert, yum.
3. Now I am at a 0. Before the lunch I was at a 10 with shaky hands.
4. I don't spend as much time answering e-mails as I do actually looking at various web sites.
5. We had 3 days last week when we could actually wear jeans. It was short lived as the temperature shot back up last weekend. Today it is 94 and I am sick of it!!

I can't believe I forgot to add music to my list. What was I thinking.

NOTE TO ANONYMOUS: Why all the Westerberg emails? Please share. KJ and I are self-proclaimed Westernerds, bordering on fanaticism. Have made asses of ourselves onstage and at various in-store and post-show autograph ops over the years...

1. Music, film and photographs of or by loved ones
2. Several months ago, all work-related pre-maternity leave
3. 10...it's 1:50 and I haven't eaten lunch yet.
4. Now, I spend about 20 minutes tops on emails, if at all. During a workday, however, it can be hours upon hours.
5. I busted out a new sweater a few weekends ago when it was about 50 degrees and rainy, but now I'm back in a tank top for this Indian Summer Day of 90 degrees.

I've had "Pleased to Meet Me" and "14 Songs" for a few years. And at the suggestion of someone, I revisited them and am so happy I did. I'm hooked and spreading the good word.

Ah...so much great music. "Tim" is a great album. {Methinks I know which "someone" gave you the recommendation...) If PW ever tours in your area, he puts on a hell of a show.
