All About the Sox

Seems Bean Down Under is feeling the magic all the way from Brisbane! Two down, two to go. Finally getting anxious. And how 'bout Papa-Jima?

*******************
10/23: It's all about the Red Sox right now. It's all around us. Yesterday, people everywhere were bleary eyed from staying up too late watching the post-celebration unravel at Fenway into the wee hours of Monday morning. All day long, we moved through the day, riding on the energy and anticipation of the World Series, and an extra Dunkin's or two. I was waiting to post insights from BG, who is a much better sports scribe but he's too busy at work. It was then I realized that BG and Jonathan Papelbon are very similar creatures: Very focused on the task at hand, can be intense about accomplishments. But then can let loose and do an irish jig in his underwear, or do something like this. I hope we can harnass this sentiment over the next week. And I really hope that the anxiety of watching these games will somehow end with someone running the bases in a gorilla suit and a tutu.

YAH! YAH! YAH! Should the Sox win the Series, I hope Body dons a Gorilla mask and streaks up and down "I" Street in celebration...the footage for Body Show III. GO SOX.

Yankees suck.

Gentleman Joe Torre does not.

KJ - I thought for sure that the pic of me on Nobadeer Beach in my boxers (yanked high) was going to surface. I'm relieved....

A favorite. It's definitely among the top five in the SB arsenal. Keep em coming.

I'm so excited! I can't wait for the game tomorrow night. I'll be wearing the same pj's and sitting in the same chair that I have been in for the last two games.

Yes, I'm that girl. And you thought Boggs was bad!

...Maybe I'll have some chicken too.

Yes, do not stray from any OCD rituals.

I'm way too calm. I need to get anxious.

Brian McGrory explains the absence of anxiety this year. It's Christmas everyday.

So true. We don't know how to do existential joy.

I miss the angst!

I miss the noise, I miss those planes.

Getting ready to enjoy game 1 from 10,000 miles away! I have turned an office full of Aussies into true Red Sox fans.... I think they are as nervous as I am for the Sox! I love what the sports teams are doing in Boston. Even BC. There I said it!

"Cliff, what are you talking about?"

"I have no idea."

All comes back to Singles, KJ.

Go SOX

Bean,
Nice BC reference. Funny how that is...

James - since getting looked down upon by many a BC student due to me going to UMASS I have never liked BC or any of their sports. But, I think that after 15+ years my grudge is wearing thin and I do like the fact that the BC Eagles are #2. I only wish UMASS has beat them earlier in the season!

EPB-No kidding. It's difficult to trash them when you're living la dolce vita! Also Jeff Smith has played a role in the change of heart.

LPD-It always does, somehow!

How 'bout Papa-Jima last night.
