I Do Not Want What I Have Not Got (Except a few wigs)

My chemo brain is in full effect this week so today's post will be very light on the text and heavy on the wiggy images. Maria, Caroline and Paulie gave me the "Sinead O'Connor" the other day, chopping off all my hair and heading off chemo-induced alopecia (take THAT!) We've documented it all here in a crappy low-res slideshow along with some new looks -- some smashing, some frightening -- made possible by impending baldness. Enjoy! ( p.s. the seven songs of the day appear immediately below the slideshow)

***************
Seven Songs of the Day 2/18/09

1. The Greatest - Cat Power
2. Gimme Shelter - the Rolling Stones
3. Wiser Time - Black Crowes
4. Stand Alone - the Cult
5. Before Tomorrow Comes - Alter Bridge
6. Raindrops + Sunshowers - Smashing Pumpkins
7. Get Free - the Vines

OMG - I love it! The first picture of you is so striking. Definitely Sinead. You should totally keep it that short. You've got the bone structure for it, baby! (And I love Vito's version of moral support.)

Hope you're resting well. Two down! Love to James, Caroline & Paulie too!

KJ - great montage! I will repeat what the others have said, you look great with short hair, long hair, no hair...! I agree that the short look should be an option when all is said and done.

Good luck with the rest of this week!

Hi Kate, I'm a friend of BJ's and thus have 'known' you for 20 years through her. She shared your blog with me a while ago and again more recently. I love it all. I just wanted to stop cyberstalking you for a minute to say you are brave and you are beautiful. Rock on, sister. There's lots of extra good karma out here flowing your way.

YOU R BEAUTIFUL... inside and out!!!!!!

BTW... I am totally jealous of the Sinead look seeing as I have been trying to pull it off for about 15 years now without any luck!!!! i think I might need maria's number...

Fuzzy Wuzzy RULES!!!! (and I think as do my kids that you are still the cutest mama!!!)

Love you girl!

No matter what the tumor is doing to you physically, it is not destroying your mind or your spirit. I visit here often and read everything. At the start of just about every post I expect it will leave me sad and sorry for you. But there are enough smiles and laughs that I never do. My reaction at the end of each post is what I think yours will be at the end of this ordeal--something similar to Jonathan Bender walking off to Simple Minds at the end of the Breakfast Club.

This can not be easy for you. The fact that you are able to do it with such a tremendous spirit is amazing. Good for you!

Kate,
I have been reading your blog now for some time. I came across your news about 2 weeks ago and keep waiting for the right thing to say. You are incredibly brave, you words offer such insight and humor at what seems like such a difficult time. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. By the way, you look beautiful!
