U2@Garden: I'm Still Levitating
Please forgive the hyperbole but last night was quite possibly one of the most uplifting evenings of the decade. Not only were we toasting some fabulous news, but U2 played one of their best shows since the 80s. Maybe it was hearing Ms. Sarajevo or maybe someone slipped me a mickey. All I know is I left the Garden feeling lighter and when I woke up today, I was still levitating like Mikey Carter.
The first time I saw U2 was in May 1983 at the Orpheum and the intensity of the show picked me up, shook me, and threw me back down - forever changed. Since then, I've seen the band upwards of 30 times. Each show, in an of itself, was an amazing, singular experience, but when the band connects with the audience on the level it did last night, it becomes something truly magical.

That is one great Mikey Carter reference.
I agree, james. Kate should write a blog about Carter.
THE SHOW WAS FANTASTIC. Supercharged dose of U2 the way we love them. Awesome. Loved the drum solo at the end. Was FIRED UP for Electric Co. Nice surprise. If they had played "Bad" I might have collapsed.
Speaking of Bad - James, you still need to pay out on our bet of Bad vs. Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For. Please advise. Although I'd have preferred the former, we got the latter..which was nonetheless amazing.
Also, LP...Remember when we "HAD TO GO BACK FOR A THIRD SHOW IN ONE WEEK" because we hadn't heard "Bad" yet? Thankfully we heard it. I wish we'd heard it this week tooooooo.
Yep, I remember it well, KJ. Used up our temp job paychecks to do so. Worth every penny to hear "Bad". *sigh*
Also remember sneaking into the HANDICAPPED section for better seats and running into Dave Gera...also not handicapped. Nice.
Oh my God. I forgot about that! Was Jamie Collins with him that night? If so (if he was drinking) they easily could've qualified as handicapped.
